Euro RSCG "Mentos Gum" Designs

When I first came upon this campaign put out by Euro RSCG, I fell in love with the idea of it. I wanted to spotlight it this week for my latest blog post.
MEANING: The campaign's meaning is fairly simple; Mentos now is carried in gum. Within each image, a cartoonish character blows a bubble when chewing bubble gum. However, the bubble is made of a piece of mentos candy. It is simple, creative, and opens your eyes to objects holding double meanings.
ATTRACTION: What attracted me to this campaign, and to each piece was how the design creatively ties in the actual product. I also love the centered, bright colors of the mentos candies to grab your attention right off the bat.  The simplicity is genuis, and it is a thought that will stick with you.
SOURCE:
I found this campaign in the recently purchased issue of Lurzer's Archive I have. I used this source last week, yet there are so many great designs in this single magazine!

So as you can see, a simple, creative thought can go a long way.

Until next time,
Taylor

Graphic Design: Using your Surroundings.

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my blog for the first post of the semester. I'm really looking forward to seeing everybody's blogs and the choices they make in displaying designs they enjoy. I know we have such a vast amount of designs to choose from, and seeing different ones every week is going to be very beneficial and inspirational. I wish everyone the best this semester, and am looking forward to seeing everyones blog entries. On that note, my first blog post of the semester is below. Good luck and Enjoy!

"Oui FM Radio" Campaign

This week I chose to spotlight the campaign for the French Radio Station "Oui FM".

Meaning:
The campaign is to show the variety of music played on the radio station. The purpose of the campaign was to spread the word about how the station can now be transmitted and recieved in towns all over France.
Attraction:
What attracted me to this piece the most was how the design is an image within an image. The album covers the designer chose to use corresponds with the enviroment around it. Therefore, even though the time the album was created is long gone, the moment of music is recreated everywhere. It is also saying you can find great music everywhere you go. I also love music, so that was a source of attraction to the piece.
Source:
I recently bought a copy of Lurzer's Archive. I found it, and simply scanned.

As you can see, I love when images are enveloped within one another, creating a whole different mood and moment.

Until next time,
Taylor
